I never knew that Creative Commons existed and I was happy to know that there are artists that would like to share their unique works with the rest of the world. How many educators like myself have just recently become aware of CC?

With only right and wrong answers, where is there any real room for discovery, for coming up with new ways of doing things thus new avenues of getting things done? We need not diminish the arts in primary education but expand it - but please - no standardized testing here.

I believe that creativity has been replaced in our schools with testing and teaching to the tests instead allowing students to learn through discovery and exploration. As an adult I can honestly say although I didn't test as much in grade school as I test my students, I can't recall my teachers exposing me to various art forms. I am glad I am learning more about art through PVB. Maybe I will have more to give my students other than testing techniques.

I personally enjoyed Rick Trione's web site. I think it is wonderful that Rick still serves God even though he has losted his sight. God has given him a talent, and I am truly glad to see him keep using and sharing it with others.

Walter Anderson is definitely one of my very favorite artists. His watercolors are so vivid and his style is so unique. I have been blessed to have been familiar with Anderson and his works my entire life because I grew up on the MS Gulf Coast. While on a vacation to NY, I actually went into a boutique that had several of Anderson's prints hung on the walls. I was so excited to see that his work was loved and appreciated in NY as well as locally. The owner had purchased a copy of Anderson's Alphabet book at a used book store and immediately fell in love with his intriguing style. She then collected many pieces and displayed them throughout her store (and her home, too, she said). She actually buys/purchases the block prints (b&w) and then watercolors them herself--which I found very interesting and inspiring!! Everyone should checkout Anderson's work more fully if given the chance. I am sure that you will be delighted!

I agree and strive to share the message of the importance of creativity in education. It seems we are leaning more in the other direction. Much of our education system is based on performance on objective tests.
I'm glad you have enjoyed the wiki...there's more to come!
