This next portrait is titled The Golden Rule. Rockwell wanted to show that "doing unto others as you would have them do unto you" was something on which people of most religions could agree, regardless of their creed or belief. In the picture we see people of many nationalities.

In 1943, Rockwell was insprired to paint the Four Freedoms paintings. He decided to do these paintings after President Franklin Roosevelt delivered his address to Congress. These paintings were seen in several issues of The Saturday Evening Post. Below you will find a poster of the Four Freedoms paintings.

I did my cyberhunt on Norman Rockwell and found interesting things. For example, he was rejected his first time trying to enter the Navy because he was seventeen pounds underweight.
